28 - 30 April 2016
Republic of Karelia, Russia

UnCapitals is pleased to release an open call for participants from Nordic countries and North-West Russia willing to join a 3-days creative camp taking place in Olonets, Russia.

UnCapitals is a 3-days creative camp, which unites 42 young people from the Nordic countries to work together on the bringing back to life the missing legends and history of the Northern cultures by transferring them into the visual and audio forms: art works, IT and web-design and sound experiments.

Our project is based on the concept of cultural decentralization. What does it mean? The cultural centers move away from the capitals to remote or provincial towns.
The aim of UnCapitals is to define and strengthen the Nordic cultural identity, as well as to unify the Northern residents and provoke a dialogue between the capital cities and remote areas.

The call is open to young creatives in the fields of:
- music and sound: electronic & experimental producers, instrumentalists, vocalists, songwriters
- mural art: street artists and mural artists
- online platforms (web technology): programmers (coders), web designers, online journalists,
bloggers, web artists

If you are 18-30 years old, speak English and want to be part of our project – please fill in the application form on our website: www.uncapitals.com

The programme includes intensive workshops led by field experts. As a result new objects of mural art, musical compositions and an online platform are created.

Deadline: 22 March 2016
